WebAssembly integration in the 5G RAN

The project aims to explore the potential of WebAssembly as a lightweight and efficient runtime environment for executing code in the RAN, enabling dynamic service deployment and customization. By leveraging WebAssembly’s capabilities, we aim to improve the adaptability of the RAN to changing network conditions and user requirements while ensuring robust security measures.

The project also aims at developing a framework that facilitates the integration of different Open-RAN components with WebAssembly, allowing for seamless communication and interoperability between equipment from different vendors. This will enable operators to deploy and manage their networks more efficiently, reducing costs and improving performance.
